The cost of running a startup

This is something no one talks about…

The money you have to spend upfront to run your online business.

I consider myself a pro at keeping costs low.

For my first 6 months of business, I spent $500/mo on all my marketing & operating costs.

These days, I spend a lot more than $500/mo (I’ve been running online startups for 2.5 years now).

Last month, I spent ~$11,000 on my business.

That’s how much it cost:

$11,000

But remember:

Don’t compare your beginning to someone else’s middle.

I’m not saying these should be YOUR costs.

But I thought it would be fun to share a breakdown of my costs, in case you’re curious.

This’ll give you an idea of where you’re headed as your startup idea continues to grow!

$11,088: Total expenses in November:

  1. $8,186: Team costs (employees, contractors, virtual assistants)
  2. $1,144: Marketing automation software
  3. $622: Other software
  4. $1,136: Other operational (travel, taxes, legal, etc)

What do you think about that?

Are these numbers what you would have expected?

I break down all this and more in my workshop, “The Cost of Running a Startup”
